In this project, a system that can be used to test mobile computing applications in a distributed environment is developed. The proposed system is based on mobile agents. It allows to test real wireless data services on a (totally or partially) simulated environment, hiding the true nature (real or simulated) of proxies and moving objects. Moreover, it enables distributed testing, which increases the scalability and accuracy of the system. Finally, it is capable of testing services where the mobile devices execute (mobile) agent-based applications.
The testing system can be easily adapted to work with several data services for a wireless environment. In this way, we can build our own scenarios and test the suitability of certain design decisions when creating new data services for a mobile environment.
