PURPOSE
In this page, we have summarized diferente configurations of systems where we have tested our applets. We also indicate the technical difficulties we have experienced with some of them.

EXPLANATIONS
In the table, Network issues indicate known problems with JVM (Java Virtual Machine) running on Debian-based kernels. They are related to differences between sockets in IPv4 and IPv6. In particular, the latest Debian kernels make this distinction internally, while the JVM does not handle this issue explicitly. This leads to connectivity problems when the kind of Socket to be used is not specified. For instance, when using the Eclipse Development Framework (http://www.eclipse.org/) in these systems, the directive -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true has to be added to the eclipse.ini file in order to have the CVS client running properly.
On the other hand, Focus issues indicate a problem with this JVM plugin version, which implies that the tabs in the applet that shows different representations of the same granules cannot be changed.
Finally, we have also experienced some Blinking issues (the graphical representation of the applet blinks) when using Google Chrome and Firefox in Mac OS X. Besides, with Google Chrome in Mac OS X 10.6 and Java 1.6.0_15 a problem is found saying that there is no complement available for visualization (we found similar problems reported in the Internet about the use of applets in Google Chrome). These problems do not appear when using these browsers in Windows XP SP3 or when using Safari in Mac OS X.
